The Hollywood Reporter says the pop star is on board to direct Ade: A Love Story, based on the book by Rebecca Walker who is the daughter of literary royalty and The Color Purple author Alice Walker.

The story's plot sounds like it's in the wheelhouse of Madonna's own experience, or at least relatable. Walker's novel follows a female protagonist who falls in love with a Swahili man who lives off the coast of Kenya.
