Warrant Issued For Anita Baker's Arrest

. (Radio.com) A judge in Wayne County, Michigan, signed off on an arrest warrant last Friday for R&B legend Anita Baker, according to CBS Detroit. This comes a week after the 56-year-old Baker failed to appear in court for a hearing in a civil lawsuit.

Ray A. Smith Painting & Decorating claims Baker owes over $15,000 for work done on her Grosse Pointe, Michigan home in 2009. Their attorney, Daniel Gerow, was granted the warrant after Baker failed to pay for work on her sprawling home on Lake St. Clair in Grosse Pointe.

"I don't want to see anyone go to jail, I just want to see my client get paid," Gerow told The Detroit News. "I think she's a talented singer, but she needs to take care of her obligations."

In response, Baker tweeted, "WHATTT??!!� sittin' in the kitchen watching this on TV. BIG time crazy. Atty on his way to TV Station. Devil sho is busy." more on this story
