Busta Rhymes Island Exists
. This wasn't always the case, though. Ten years ago O'Brien began canoeing out to an island close to his home in Shrewsbury. Just a 40 foot by 40 foot speck of land in his front yard. "It's a very small little island with rope swinging, blueberries and stuff Busta would enjoy," he said in an interview. When he and a friend were on the island, his friend suggested naming it, and they settled on Busta Rhymes Island. O'Brien went onto Google Maps and applied a geotag to the island. But the name wasn't official just yet. He submitted a proposal to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names but was denied. It turns out a person has to be deceased for five years before the U.S. Board on Geographic Names signs off on it. So, until he passes, Busta Rhymes Island is more of a nickname to the island in Shrewsbury, Mass. More including a map. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
