Singled Out: KXM's Rescue Me
. This is the last tune that we wrote for the CD. It flowed out of each of us very quickly and it was the obvious choice for our 1st single. Dug and I were working closely together near the end of the lyric writing process. He was staying at my place and we'd talk on into the wee hours about everything. Dug is a 'wear your heart on your sleeve' kind of guy and very open and honest about his personal history and opinions. He's earned that right, having gone through a lot in his life. Some of the things he shared with me literally brought me to tears. I thought to myself that if his personal story had that big of an effect on me, maybe he should tell those stories through our music. The greatest songs are made of stories that everybody can relate to and identify with. It's real life. It's universal. In the end, as dUg said to me, it is just a song about feeling alone, and all the crap that comes with it. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about the album and band right here!
