Lady Gaga To Give SXSW Keynote
. The city of Austin denied Lady Gaga a permit to perform on an outdoor stage at the corner of 5th and Red River Streets but last week Billboard reported that she will now be headlining the outdoor stage at Stubb's on March 13th. The venue will reportedly only accommodate 2,200 fans, so along with the show announcement the popstar announced an online initiative where she will ask fans to perform a series of "Bold Missions" to gain admittance to the show. On Friday, organizers for the annual music festival announced that they have drafted Lady Gaga to give this year's keynote address. Previous keynote speakers include the late Lou Reed, Dave Grohl, and Bruce Springsteen. SXSW said in the announcement that former MTV and now Fuse personality John Norris will lead the keynote conversation with Lady Gaga on March 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Austin. Organizers advised that Lady Gaga's keynote will be open to Music and Platinum registrants and Showcasing Artists with wristbands.
