Augustana Reveal First Song From New Album
. The band recorded the new album in Rhinebeck, NY and Nashville, TN with producer John O'Mahony (Coldplay, Metric, Kashmir). They are giving fans a taste of what is to come with the digital release of the first single "Ash and Ember". Augustana's Dan Layus had this to say about the song, "It felt like the right way to introduce this album and re-enter the atmosphere as an artist. I put a lot on my plate over the years. I made a ton of bad decisions and many good decisions, I hurt a lot of people I cared for and loved, including myself. "The song is about how it can be easy to beat up yourself. You've got to be able to acknowledge that who you are now isn't defined by who you were but that it is a part of your makeup. It's a mix of reflecting on the past as well as reflecting on the present, questioning one's self." You can check out a stream of the track here. The band will also be hitting the road in support of the new album. They will kick off a North American trek with Twin Forks on April 19th in Nashville, TN.
