Steve Scott Country Giving Back To The Troops and Veterans
. We were sent over these details: "Have You Ever Known a Soldier?" delivers a long awaited sincere "thank you" to all our military heroes and their families. Steve has partnered with three non-for-profit organizations: Operation Ward 57 (www.operationward57.org), Wish for Our Heroes (www.wish4ourheroes.org) and Until Every Troop Comes Home (www.untileverytroopcomeshome.org). And most recently Steve Scott Country started working closely in support of the campaign to bring home Bowe Bergdahl, the only U.S. P.O.W. left in Afghanistan. () Bowe was captured by the Taliban in 2009 and Bowe's courageous Family is fighting hard to bring back their son. More details here. Scott was inspired to write "Have You Ever Known a Soldier?" by his two older brothers who served as combat Marines and his wife's work on the Army STARRS Project, the largest study of mental health risk and resilience ever conducted among military personnel (www.armystarrs.org). Steve's core belief is all about giving back; recognizing and acknowledging the sacrifice of those who pay the high price of war for us all. He believes that (even though the flag waving has stopped and the parades are gone) it is our duty, as a nation and as individuals, to support our troops and their families not only while at war but when they've returned to us here at home.
