Savannah Stopover Music Festival
March 6-8, Savannah, Georgia

Bands on their way to South by Southwest in Austin, Texas "stopover" at this vibrant event where the slogan is "One weekend. A year's worth of music." The motto is apt; more than 80 national acts like Wye Oak, Those Darlins, Small Black, Future Islands, Miniature Tigers, Speedy Ortiz, Wild Child and Hurray for the Riff Raff will take to the stage at various venues around Savannah. Other acts scheduled to appear include Ex Hex, Caitlin Rose, J. Roddy Walston & The Business, Oberhofer, Savannah's own Kylesa, Bear Hands, The Weeks, Magic Man, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and San Francisco-based shoe-gazers Weekend. There will also be three showcases featuring Savannah bands and acts signed to Savannah-based labels. Jazz Bash By the Bay
March 7-9, Monterey, California

Taking place at the Portola Hotel and the Monterey Conference Center on the city's waterfront, the Jazz Bash will offer music for fans of all types of jazz: swing and ragtime, early jazz and big band, gypsy jazz, blues and even some zydeco. Scheduled performers include Le Jazz Hot, Big Mama Sue Quintet with Jim Buchmann, High Sierra Jazz Band, Stephanie Trick Trio, Ivory & Gold, Crown Syncopators, Bob Schultz' Frisco Jazz Band, Rebecca Kilgore Trio, Royal Society Jazz Orchestra and many others. Musink Tattoo & Music Festival
March 21-23, Costa Mesa, California

Put together by Travis Barker of Blink-182 and Transplants, Musink brings three days of punk rock and tattoo fun to Orange County. Headlining bands will be The Descendents, Love Canal, Tech N9ne, Transplants, Rittz, Gorilla Biscuits, Judge, H20 and Strife. Famed punker Tim Armstrong of Rancid fame will also appear; he's a member of Transplants along with Barker. In the hall next to the outdoor stage will be some 300 tattoo artists including famed ink-slingers Jack Rudy, Dan Smith, Tokyo Hiro, Nikko Hurtado, Small Paul and Oliver Peck. www.musink.org
