Today the members of Birth of Joy tell us about the song "Rock and Roll Show" from their brand new album "Prisoner", which is hitting stores this week. Here is the story:

When Gertjan bought his Philicorda organ he created a rock and roll surf vibe chords scheme and Bob immediately picked it up and it became a funny thing to play with during the rehearsels.

After a couple of years we were playing it for fun while suddenly Kevin remembered some lyrics and vocal melodies he wrote and he was playing with some strange broken chords that made sense as a pre-chorus. The basic was there before we knew it.

For the bridge Gertjan implemented a groovy organ riff, this inspired Bob to go completely beserk on the drums which evolved into a crazy mad drum solo.

This song is classic example how we write as a team, we write together and we like to put several idea's into one song.

Rock and Roll Show is simply about seeking pleasure.
Have a good time.
Forget school.
Forget your job.
Dance with the one you love and go crazy.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
