Ed Sheeran Gets Brutally Honest in New Song 'The Man'

(Radio.com) Ed Sheeran continues exploring his heartbreak with the latest track he's revealed from his forthcoming album, X. "The Man" is a study in convincing yourself you don't love someone, which Sheeran does all over the chorus, while the verses bely his continuing love for a partner in a relationship that isn't coming together.

He goes from being angry in the first verse, with which the claim that he doesn't love or need this person anymore rings true. By the second verse he's taking the blame on himself for choosing a life on the road.

By his third verse, he's admitting he lied in the hook. It's a real heartstring-puller when Sheeran admits a few times in the lyrics that if not for his career, the girl he's singing about would probably be his wife and the mother of his kids. It's brutally honest. Check it out here.
