(Radio.com) Electro-rock heroes Chromeo are taking the band to new heights with a partnership stake in fledgling Canadian airline, Mallard Air. Band members Dave 1 and P-Thugg are prime equity holders in the new airline, which has 10 Midwestern hubs in America and three more in the Canadian Prairies. The company positions itself as a "budget-conscious alternative the upwardly mobile American traveler," so Southwest best take notice. The duo will also serve as spokespersons for the company.

"When Mallard approached us about share acquisition, we thought it was a joke," Dave 1 explained in a press release. "But when we got to know the people behind the airline, a creative and dynamic group of engineers and venture capitalists, this partnership made total sense. Besides, our business managers always encouraged us to diversify our investments. For a band like us, this feels bold and new."

"We spend our life on airplanes," P-Thugg said. "And there's always something wrong: from the uniforms to the business class menu, to the way they handle oversize baggage. Our association with Mallard will give us the opportunity to change that and to offer a travel experience the way we see it." more on this story
