(Radio.com) After much speculation, it has been confirmed that Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson, Jr., will, in fact, portray his father in the upcoming N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton.

Ice Cube had previously confirmed to The Guardian in February that he was looking into his son as a potential for the part, noting that Jackson could "recite Straight Outta Compton at two years old."

According to Billboard, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E's widow Tomica Woods Wright have all approved of the actors who will play the three main roles.

While Ice Cube's son will portray him, Marcus Callender will play Dre. Well known for his roles at New York's Shakespeare Lab at the Public Theater, Callender beat out Michael B. Jordan, whose scheduling conflict includes his upcoming role in a new Fantastic Four film via Fox. more on this story
