Taylor Swift Classic Inspires Major League Baseball Tweets
. On Monday (June 9), the official MLB Twitter account created a simple tweet: "It's a glove story" it read, with an accompanying picture of two gloves, referencing the chorus of Swift's 2008 song "Love Story." Fairly innocuous, but it didn't stop there. The Los Angeles Dodgers responded with a lyric from the song - "We were both young when I first saw you - including a logo from the team's former days as the Brooklyn Dodgers. From there, multiple teams - among them the San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics and Cleveland Indians - joined in, eventually forming a long series stringing together "Love Story"'s lyrics, with a few flourishes along the way. Among the more amusing of the contributions: "see you make your way through the crowd and say, 'Hello!'" the Dodgers tweeted with an image of Hello Kitty, and the Rangers, who contributed the lyric "I'll be the prince and you'll be the princess" with a picture of All-Star player Prince Fielder.
