Katy Perry's 'High Frequency' Men and the Tesla Trend
. It's been an eye-grabbing quote because no one is quite sure what it means. Was it a misstatement? Did she reach and grab for the wrong words? Or is Katy Perry making an allusion to Tesla's work with electricity? Put very simply, "high frequency" typically refers to light, which is a high frequency manifestation of energy. Our most practical application of it is in the Tesla coil, that little piece of filament in a lightbulb that contains the energy and enables the neon and flourescent illumination commonly used today. Nikola Tesla parlayed this discovery into the wireless transmission of power, known now as radio waves. Set at a certain frequency (location on the dial), the coils magnify the signal. It would appear that what Perry is implying is that she likes men who operate on a high frequency and/or amplify the energy the world throws at them. In short, larger than life is her type. That Katy Perry might be referencing the work of Tesla, a well-known inventor with a bit of a reputation in new age fanatics, underdog lovers and conspiracy theory circles, is not out of the realm of possibility. Perry outs herself as a studier of crystals later in the interview when, in response to her statement that she is never single for long she says, "I carry a lot of rose quartz, which attracts the male. Maybe I need to calm it down with the amethyst." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
