Maddie and Tae Release 'Girl in a Country Song' Video
. "Aw naw, Conway and George Strait never did it this way back in the old days," Maddie & Tae sing in "Girl in a Country Song." Their comical new video brings the song to life and paints the picture of how girls are treated in today's country music by role reversal. Instead of girls in cutoff jeans, three men are shown wearing Daisy Dukes and uncomfortably tight tank tops all while the women name-check songs made popular by the likes of Jason Aldean, Tyler Farr and Chris Young. "We used to get a little respect / Now we're lucky if we even get / To climb up in your truck, keep our mouth shut and ride along / And be the girl in a country song," they sing. While Maddie & Tae have openly said they're not haters of the men in country music, the men are listening. In an interview with Radio.com earlier this month, Chase Rice praised the duo for their song. "I love it," he said. "First of all, I love anyone who sticks up for what they want. They're sticking up for girls getting more respect than just doing what those girls that we're singing about do. More power to 'em. At the same time, I don't think there are too many girls that I've met that I would want to hang out with that don't want to get in a truck and drive down a dirt road. If you ain't done that, trust me you need to. It's fun." More including the video here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
