Gregg Allman Biopic Filmmakers Indicted for Involuntary Manslaughter
. Filmmakers Randall Miller, Jody Savin and Jay Sedrish were all charged in Georgia's Wayne County Superior Court on Thursday, July 3rd over an accident which left seven crew members injured and 27-year-old camera assistant Sarah Jones dead. Filming of a dream sequence for the movie was underway on train tracks in Doctortown Landing, Georgia when a train unexpectedly crossed a trestle bridge, causing the fatality and the injuries and the producers of the film reportedly had not secured permission to film on the tracks, according to media reports. ABC reports that a grand jury impaneled last Wednesday returned an indictment against the married couple Miller and Savin, who own the company that was producing the film, and Sedrish, who was an executive producer and unit production manager.
