Steve Aoki Says His Fans Are The Voice Of His Music
. These days he's well known for his songs "No Beef" which he recorded with Afrojack and "Boneless" not to mention his epic "Aoki Jump" photos from around the globe and his quest to #CAKE the world. 92.3 NOW's DJ Toro sat down with the man himself to talk about Aoki's career then and now plus what to expect in the near future. As EDM's style focuses mainly around the music instead of the lyrics, Aoki thinks the voice of the music comes from the fans. "The fans have become that voice in a way. They've pushed us to the charts. Dance music, generally speaking, is more about the music. And the voice is secondary. I agree with Afrojack, we're this new generation in the radio game. There is no one central voice, we write our music for our fans and our performances," said Aoki. "No Beef" was released in 2011 and is still one of Aoki's most popular songs at most of his performances and that's what he loves, the longevity of his music. "It's not a goal about having radio success it's about having longevity with the songs. "No Beef" is not a radio hit but it's got longevity, me and Afrojack wrote that three years ago and I play it now and people love it.It's about writing songs that last," said Aoki. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
