Battleaxe Release Heavy Metal Sanctuary Video and Set Album Release
. The album was recorded at Trinity Heights/Pillarbox/Sound Inc Studios in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and mixed by Fred Purser (ex-Penetration and Tygers Of Pan Tang). The current line-up of Battleaxe features original members Dave King (vocals) and Brian Smith (bass), alongside Mick Percy (guitar) and Paul Atkinson (drums). The quartet began working on the album early in 2011 after a re-formed Battleaxe played Wacken Open Air Festival in 2010. The band state: "We can hardly believe that the task is finally over, the album that we never thought that we would complete is finally finished. It has been a long, hard road against almost impossible odds and we hope that everyone out there is as pleased with the result as we are. The songs are total Battleaxe and the production is better than we could have hoped for with a limited budget." Watch the video here.
