. The lead track to her forthcoming album, "You Sound Good To Me" embodies a radio-friendly country sound complete with foot-stomping rhythms. Hale grew up in Memphis, Tenn., and currently plays Aria Montgomery on Pretty Little Liars, but country music isn't just a new hobby on her resume. The singer recently told USA Today that she grew up aspiring to be a singer, looking up to artists including Martina McBride and Faith Hill. In a Twitter chat on Monday (Jan. 6), Hale revealed that country music is what she grew up listening to and what she listens to now. "It felt genuine and felt like home," she tweeted. Hale added that country music allows her to be herself. "I don't have to hide behind a character, wardrobe or dialogue," she said during the Twitter chat.
