(Prog) Big Big Train have recruited Rikard Sjoblom from Beardfish to assist with the live shows they're planning for later in 2014. The band will rehearse in Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios, where they'll record a live DVD, ahead of as-yet unconfirmed appearances in the UK and possibly beyond.

They're also continuing work on the follow-up to 2012 epic albums English Electric Part One and Part Two, which appeared together as an extended release entitled English Electric Full Power last year.

BBT's Greg Spawton reports: "Live activity is a major undertaking for us as we haven't played any gigs since earlier incarnations of the band. When the current lineup started working together in 2009, we didn't expect to be in a position to be playing live again. The songs on our albums became multi-layered recordings, which are not easy to perform live.

"We've decided that we'll be aiming for performances with brass and strings, and we've been preparing a number of songs to test in our August rehearsals at Real World. more on this story
