Rudimental Predicted BRIT Awards Win

(Radio.com) Over the past year, East London collective Rudimental rocketed straight to the top of the British charts, first with two No. 1 singles, "Waiting All Night" (feat. Ella Eyre) and "Feel the Love" (feat. John Newman). The group followed those smash hits with the release of its first full-length album, Home, which debuted in that coveted No. 1 position.

Rudimental's runaway success led to nominations for a grip of 2014 BRIT Awards (held on Feb. 19), including such high-profile categories as British Album of the Year for Home and British Single for the aforementioned "Waiting All Night."

"For me being the competitive guy that I am, I want to win everything, you know?" laughed the band's DJ Locksmith during a Radio.com interview in late January, just before the GRAMMYS, regarding which prize would mean the most to him.

"I think [British] Album [of the Year], because it shows all the hard work you've put into your body of work. Drawing back on the influences that we've had growing up, and some of the music that we've tried to share they didn't really understand at the time. So now we've come into our own realm, and our album shows that."

While the British Album of the Year award went to the Arctic Monkeys for AM, Rudimental did snag the prize for British Single, beating out hits from the likes of Disclosure, Calvin Harris and Bastille.

"We'd love to get [British] Single as well for "Waiting All Night," Locksmith predicted back in late January. "Just because we fought so hard to make that our next single at the time." more on this story
