Carrie Underwood Receives Humanitarian Award
. She has gone on to give back in many other ways by starting her own foundation, C.A.T.S. (Checotah Animal, Town, and School Foundation) to help with general causes, needs and services in her hometown of Checotah, Okla., which included extensive volunteer work including cleaning out kennels at the Checotah animal shelter, The Tennessean reports. Wednesday, (Feb. 19) the singer accepted the Country Radio Broadcasters Artist Humanitarian Award at the CRS convention in Nashville for her volunteer work. "I have been blessed with so many amazing things in my life and I've always been taught to receive much, you must give much," she said during her acceptance speech. "I really hope more than anything that you guys feel just as much ownership over this as I am.
