Singled Out: Cameron the Public's Hazy On The Ground
. At the time we wrote "Hazy on the Ground" we were listening at a lot of Rolling Stones records. There is something fascinating about the late sixties where the Vietnam war era and the cultural revolution in the US were colliding into a supernova. We were watching movies like "Apocalypse Now," "Platoon", and "Jacobs Ladder" to get inspiration to write the song. Here you are being told what to do by society--go to college, get a job, get married and life will be happy. All of the sudden you land in a jungle to fight for your life for a cause that you don't even believe in. You realize at this point all you have been told growing up is an illusion. Many people are going through this in life currently. We are trying to survive in a world that is not always good to us. Sometimes no matter how well you think you can see ahead. it is always "Hazy on The Ground." Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about the band right here!
