This song was originally written by Alice Smith, Rebecca Jordan and Reginald 'Syience" Perry, and released on Smith's album She. Prince covered the track with his band 3RDEYEGIRL at his own Paisley Park Studios.

The song begins with a startling declaration: "U said I was what U wanted/ Liar." Chunky guitars swathe the track in soul. The footage in the video comes from Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL's epic eight-minute Saturday Night Live performance, in which they rocked out amid clouds of colored smoke.
