The Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet: 3 Music Festival This Weekend
. The benefit concert, organized by the Friends of Jason Becker for the famed guitarist who is battling Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS; Lou Gehrig's Disease), will take place this Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 8 pm at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. The show will also feature appearances from Michael Lee Frikins, Spiral Arms and Ben Woods, along with special guests. Proceeds will support the Jason Becker Special Needs Trust. Becker is best known as one half of the Cacophony guitar duo with former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman and as the replacement for Steve Vai in David Lee Roth's band. His time in Roth's band was cut short when he was diagnosed with ALS. Most people have seen the various ALS Ice Bucket Challenge videos across the web over the past few weeks. Becker himself took the challenge this weekend and issued a challenge to Edward Van Halen, David Lee Roth and John Mayer to do the same. Check out the video here.
