Tom Petty Kicks Off Hypnotic Eye Tour

The 20-song set opened with the band's cover of The Byrds' classic, "So You Want To Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star", and featured four tracks from the newly-released album, including "American Dream Plan B", "Forgotten Man", "U Get Me High" and "Shadow People." Opening night at the Viejas Arena presented music from Petty's extensive catalog as well as covers of tunes by The Traveling Wilburys and Little Feat. Petty and opener Steve Winwood will play shows across North America for the next two months, wrapping things up at The Forum in Los Angeles on October 10.
