Mariah Carey's Label Deny Surprise Album Plans

. (Radio.com) Mariah Carey fans may not be pleasantly surprised by the singer's forthcoming yet-to-be-titled release, after all. While last week various outlets claimed the singer would be pulling a "Beyonc�" with a surprise release of her 14th album, further interviews from the singer's camp denounce this rumor.

The current Billboard cover girl, Carey admits that a Beyonc� approach to her album was discussed as she wanted her fans to hear the album "as a body of work" and experience it "as if they were listening to it with me for the first time," she told Billboard.

Several interviews from Jermaine Dupri confirmed this discussion, but Carey's record label Def Jam said that the album won't be a complete surprise. "Mariah will announce the date and title in advance of the on-sale date," Laura Swanson, the label's exec VP-media said. more on this story
