Prince Releasing New Album And Reissuing Purple Rain
. The announcement comes after decades of disagreements between Prince and the label. The artist presently known as Prince recorded multiple albums for Warner Bros. between the late 1970s and mid 1990s. Later in that partnership, he became increasingly disillusioned with the label, around which point he changed his name to the Love Symbol, and later The Artist Formerly Known as Prince. After rapid-fire releases of his final albums to fulfill contractual obligations, Prince departed Warner Bros. and has been battling to gain control of his music recorded with the label since. However, ill will seems to finally have been resolved with the new agreement- and to celebrate, a 30th-anniversary deluxe edition of Purple Rain, digitally re-mastered for the first time, will be available soon, with more projects coming down the pipeline. "A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros. Records and Eye are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship," Prince said in a statement. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
