With a name like that, one might expect the breezy, sunny pop Simpson is usually accustomed to dispensing, but the song's neither that nor a Beyonce reference � and the video reflects the new approach.

"Surfboard" starts with quickly strummed electric guitar before breaking into a comparatively slow hip-hop beat, acoustic guitar wafting gingerly in the background. There's even a breakdown featuring more of an electro beat and catchy whistling.
