Katy Perry Releases Sweet 'Birthday' Lyric Video
. We even get a hint of Katy in this one, via the ladies' nail art displayed as a pair of hands intermittently come on the screen to move things along. It's a return to that Teenage Dream-era, lighter-than-air sugar kisses thing that Perry does so well, but apparently this time it's all too real. In an interview with 92.3 NOW (a Radio.com station), Perry said, "I really enjoyed putting on this character for Teenage Dream that was larger-than-life and fun and full of candy and confectionary. Then I got punched in the face and reality kind of served me a little bit. Now it's a little bit more me, actually Sometimes it's exaggerated versions, but I'm not really playing a character anymore." This week, Perry was nominated for 10 Billboard Music Awards, including top artist and four nominations for her single "Roar." The song, like "Roar" was co-written by Perry, Bonnie McKee, Dr. Luke and Max Martin with Cirkut (aka Henry Walter). It is Perry's fifth single from Prism. Watch the lyric video here.
