Dan + Shay Score No. 1 Album
. According to Billboard, the pair has "done what no other twosome has done in the chart's 50-year history: debut at the summit with a first album." Where It All Began entered the chart with 29,000 copies sold according to Nielsen SoundScan and comes in at No. 6 on Billboard's 200 chart. The band is also the third duo to reach No. 1 with a full-length debut album. They follow Big & Rich's release of Horse of a Different Color and Florida Georgia Line's Here's to the Good Times. In an interview with Radio.com earlier this year, their producer Scott Hendricks likened the band to Brooks & Dunn, with whom Hendricks worked for many years. "Brooks & Dunn, part of their success was based on their writing," Hendricks told Radio.com. "Though this music is completely different, these guys have that. They're just writing machines. It's just a magical thing to be a part of. I'm so lucky they asked me to be a part of it. Their talent is off the charts, both of them." Radio.com talked with Dan + Shay on the ACM red carpet on Sunday (April 6) about their whirlwind year. "It's a dream come true," Smyers said. "It's unbelievable. I check iTunes every 30 seconds to see. It's been at No. 1 on iTunes the past couple days. It's an incredible feeling." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
