Singled Out: The Raskins' We Had It All
. This song was written as a direct paradox of our life's travels through the music business. Basically growing up in Queens NY, three brothers living in one bedroom with our bunk beds, KISS posters on the wall and a piano. We always had dreams of striving straight toward the top of the rock and roll universe. But dreams and reality can sometimes feel light years apart. Thrusting ourselves into a music world where we had zero idea of what we are doing or where we were going. Strictly trial and error.... one day (true story) we The Raskin Twins packed up a car willed to us by our late Aunt and Uncle with everything we owned and headed out to Hollywood in search of the dream. So cliche..... In the video you see the Raskins traveling long distances, hitch hiking, performing for loose change in public etc.. Finally to end up at the wholly grail of record labels and the doors are locked. Pretty much a metaphor of what was to come for us. Another words none of this was going to come easy. When we feel like we are failing or falling short of our music goals and dreams at the end of the day we are two of the happiest guys on the planet because were doing what we are most passionate, music, and on any level that is ultimately more than good enough for us... Thus coming up with the title and phrase of our debut single "We Had It All" meaning we didn't have to travel 2000 plus miles to feel the success of the music industry. We always had that by just having the passion for music in our soul....We soon realized we don't need to find the music industry, if we just keep doing what we so very much love, the industry will find us....... Funny enough it finally has!!! The Raskins debut album release May13th on our own record label MIRAL Records, BDG,RED, LLC A Division of Sony Music (which stands for Micah (MI) Roger (R) and Logan (A L) MIRAL) The group The Raskins is made up of Logan and Roger Raskin with there older brother Micah handling all there business matters... This first single we definitely wanted to have that rock n roll pop feel pretty much paying tribute to our first and biggest influence out of New York City.....KISS...We thought this particular track did and does that. With the song starting of with a very Ace Frehley type guitar riff at the top and for the main solo, with a pop rock anthem type feel and harmonies so reminiscent of that early kiss sound with Gene, Paul, and Peter Criss..... Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
