As we reported yesterday, Primus has reunited with Tim "Herb" Alexander, who is returning to the band following the exit of Jay Lane. Today we have details about what the new lineup have planned including a new album and a special live appearance.The band, featuring the early 90s era line up of Alexander, Les Claypool and Larry "Ler" LaLonde, announced that they will be hitting the studio in November to begin work on a new studio album.
Fans will be able to witness the live return of Alexander when the band take the stage to play a special New Years Eve show at the Fox Theater in Oakland.
Meanwhile, Claypool will also be keeping busy this fall and hitting the road with Duo De Twang. He announced that he has finished work on the group's new album which is expected to be released early next year.
Claypool will also be performing with Tom Waits at this year's Bridge School Benefit at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. The event will be taking place on October 27th and will mark Waits' first live set in five years.
Primus says that they intend to tour behind their forthcoming album next summer and fall. Until then, here are the Duo De Twang tour dates:
