Pearl Jam Release Short Film For 'Lightning Bolt'
. A host of guest interviewers, including Judd Apatow (writer/director) and Carrie Brownstein (Portlandia star and Sleater-Kinney guitarist/vocalist), dig into a number of topics with Pearl Jam about their 10th album and the creative process behind it. The band appears to be in a very good place for the 23rd year of their existence, with each of them singing each others praises. Guitarist Stone Gossard says Eddie Vedder is "on a tear" writing lyrics and they want him to write as much as possible. Meanwhile, guitarist Mike McCready jokes about being able to keep up with drummer Matt Cameron, who says the band told him to go nuts on the drums for this album. The video offers previews of a few unreleased album cuts (although a few of them leaked a few weeks back) like the title track 'Lightning Bolt' and, this writer's personal favorite from the soon to be released tunes, 'Getaway.' The album is said to be heavy with "stormy, dark imagery" and, according to Vedder, features everyone in the band "playing out of their minds." Sounds like October 15th might be the beginning of a thrilling ride for long-time PJ fans. Watch the video here. Banana 101.5 is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
