Elton John In Concert TV Special Premieres Next Week

The show was filmed on September 11th during an intimate concert at the BBC's Radio Theatre in the heart of West London and features John performing his classic songs along with material from his new studio album, "The Diving Board." "We are thrilled to bring PBS viewers this fantastic concert special from one of the world's great entertainers," said Beth Hoppe, PBS Chief Programming Executive and General Manager, General Audience Programming. "Elton John's songs are iconic and timeless, and his enormous appeal to people of all ages and backgrounds is a tribute to his singular genius." Elton's new album "The Diving Board" was produced by T-Bone Burnett and features songs written by John and his longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin. "It's the simplest and most piano-driven record I've ever made," John told BBC Radio 2 in an interview the day of the concert, which was originally broadcast on the popular UK radio network. The PBS special marks the television premiere of the intimate concert special which was performed in front of an audience of 300 lucky fans. You can check your local listings here.
