Singled Out: Havok's Give Me Liberty... Or Give Me Death
. This little ditty has some fun lyrics about the ways of the world. Anyone with a thinking brain in their head has very good reason to be angry at the state of our union right now! The lyrics to "Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death" are heartfelt and written in a way that I think everyone can get behind. Let's be honest, our government is too big, our debts too high, our policy makers corrupted, and as the song says, "Democracy is dead." It's sad, but true. People need to WAKE UP to the severity of the situation. It's in our power as the citizens of this nation to make a difference, but that will never happen until the majority is awake and passionate about improving our situation. The U.S. government's irresponsibility and abuse of power has never been so painfully blatant and undermining. Our national debt is soaring to new highs while our dwindling rights are being disregarded in the name of "national security." How stupid do they think we are? The song ends with a quote from Thomas Jefferson and I think it's appropriate to end this bit with another T.J. quote: "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be." - Thomas Jefferson Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and check out the video here and learn more about the album right here!
