Vampire Weekend Land New Gig As Newspaper Editors
. The international newspaper chain, which started in Stockholm, Sweden in 1995, has editions in cities all over the world including Paris, Rio de Janeiro and Seoul, South Korea. Ezra Koenig, Rostam Batmanglij, Chris Tomson and Chris Baio's special guest position as assistant editors for the day has them working together with the paper's staff to help choose what news stories should be covered. The band will also curate a special section that focuses on the best foods in New York City. Vampire Weekend previously showed their love of print when back in February they announced the release of their most recent album, Modern Vampires Of The City, in the classified section of the New York Times. The band though isn't the first musical act to guest edit a national publication. Lady Gaga was the global guest-editor-in-chief of Metro for a day back in 2011, and in later that same year earned herself a contributing columnist gig at V Magazine. Elton John helped out at The Independent in 2010, while Bjork guest edited the August 2011 issue of Dazed and Confused. But Bono trumps them all, editing for three different publications: The Globe and Mail, The Independent and Vanity Fair. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
