(Radio.com) "Have you ever dreamed of being a star?" It's the question Grammy-nominated pop rapper Flo Rida asks in the commercial for Beamz by Flo, a new "interactive music product" that allows users to make music by "playing" laser beams on a controller, which triggers a multitude of sounds and samples.

Beamz comes pre-loaded with 20 songs to play along with, including cover versions of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and Coldplay's "Clocks," and can be used through computers, tablets and smartphones.

Beyond the technology, it's the aforementioned Beamz commercial that's garnered the most attention, catching the eye of renowned EDM contrarian Deadmau5, who took to his Twitter page to comically mock the 2-minute spot.

"So much for my career," Deadmau5 cracked. "Save me an opening slot at least." He went on to compare the ad to a Saturday Night Live skit, adding, "I liked the part when they played dub step for like 2 seconds and had a dude with the side head shave thing going on." more on this story
