Benny Benassi Approves Of EDM's Crossover Into The Mainstream
. "I think it's huge, when EDM comes on the radio!" says Benassi. "Thank you radio! I think it's good because the community grew up, you know. We need this for the music. Sometimes it's strange, but I'm happy!" In the past few years Benny has kept quite busy in the pop scene, producing Chris Brown's "Beautiful People" in 2011 and "Don't Wake Me Up" in 2012. He also released his album Electroman in 2011 which included the dance floor and remix hit "Cinema" plus worked with Madonna on tracks for her latest album MDNA. One artist in particular that Benny has been following, along with all of us, is Avicii. "I like everything coming from new talent now," said Benassi. "It's a really good period for EDM music and the crossover." He was asked is it still called "House music" or are we stuck with "EDM" now? Read his response and stream the interview here.
