Jack White Named Honorary Dean of Music Academy
. As reported by Rolling Stone, White spoke to those in attendance about his family and about music. "The sense of being a musician is making art, and I do not care whether it is solo or as part of a collective project," he said. "At all times, I seek to express myself, and different circumstances of my life could also become multiple creative and stylistic channels." White was also given a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony. Meanwhile, country singer Loretta Lynn has indicated she would like to collaborate with White on a follow-up to her 2004 album, Van Lear Rose, for which White served as producer, backup singer and multi-instrumentalist.
