Singled Out: Love Crushed Velvet's Revolution Time
. Tunisia. Egypt. Algeria. Libya. Two years ago, dictatorships in the Middle East were falling like dominos, and it looked as if a new era was dawning in the region. You couldn't help but be inspired by the images of people running off to fight for their freedom. Revolution is exciting. Revolution is inspiring. Revolution will make you do things that you normally wouldn't. Hence, we came up with the idea of being on a "revolution high"where you're completely swept up in the moment and everything seems possible. By the time we got around to cutting the song in the studio late last year, the great expectations for the Middle East had faded, and it looked as if the Arab Spring was going to get rained out. But we still loved the energy of, and idea behind, the song, so we decided to include it in the final cut. In August of this year--when we had to choose a first single for release from our upcoming EP, "Delusions"--all hell had just broken loose again in Egypt, and it became clear which of our songs should be the first one out of the gate. "Cause it's Revolution Time!!!" Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
