(Radio.com) Right before Wednesday night's (October 23), We Can Survive concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, which was thrown by Radio.com and our L.A. station AMP Radio 97.1 to raise funds for the Young Survival Coalition, an organization supporting young women battling breast cancer, Sara Bareilles chatted about the power of a song, specifically her own hit "Brave."

The song off Bareilles' latest album The Blessed Unrest has become somewhat of a gay anthem and the singer says the track, which she co-wrote with fun.'s Jack Antonoff, came from a really "pure place, a really vulnerable place" and was inspired by her friends who were struggling to come out.

Bareilles is constantly hearing stories from fans about how the song has empowered them, but there's one response to the song that truly stands out to her.

"There's a video that's kind of gone viral online of a children's cancer ward in Minnesota," she said. "The staff put together this video that was very similar to the music video of 'Brave' and it's heart wrenching and gorgeous and beautiful and heartbreaking at the same timeIt's a message I'm so happy to be the voice for."

Her song has become an anthem for many, but what's Bareilles' go-to girl power anthem?
