Katy Perry Talks Music, Divorce Depression And John Mayer
. Katy telling Mario there is a lot of variety in her new music, "When I started the record in November of 2012 I was kind of in a darker place and had a little bit of my self confidence shattered so I was trying to build it back up and I wrote this song, 'By The Grace of God' which was about me having a lot of negative thoughts in my mind, then you hear me find my strength throughout the message of that song and I come out in the end alright." Katy went on to say she also wrote a lot of songs once she worked to better herself after her divorce, "I did a lot of inward seeking, doing what I call patch workThat was me being good to myself, going on a complete cleanse, going to therapy, going on hikes with my friends and just letting a lot of love into my life." Once Katy was able to find her inner self, she was also able to find love in her life with current boyfriend John Mayer, the two working on music together as well, "We did a song for his albumWe were writing and recording around the same time for our recordsWe did an incredible duet called 'Who you love' that is a beautiful song I'm so proud of because people hear it and they hear a different side of me." Katy saying it is easier to date a fellow musician, "There's a lot of understanding when you get home and say "Ah, I had a pretty crappy show," they're like "I understand because I've had one too" And you get to share music, the dance parties are a lot more fun." more on this story Extra submitted this story.
