Singled Out: My Silent Bravery's Amazing
. I recently did an interview with AlternativeAddiction.com and they asked about the new single and video for "Amazing". It got me thinking about a cool backstory behind the filming of the video and the song's ultimate meaning to me. The original idea behind the video was nothing all that unique. It was going to basically be a big party at a club with the band performing for everyone. We would show the band passing out flyers prior to the show, which is when I meet Cara Maria, and then we have this big party where we turn the club upside down and everybody is freaking out, and Cara and I eventually end up together. Well, the casting director who was supposed to bring the partygoers to the club didn't produce on the night of the shoot. We thought about rescheduling the shoot and inviting out some more friends and fans to shoot the club scene another night. But in the end, we decided to stay in the moment, and play the hand the universe had dealt us. At that time, we decided we could shift the focus from the video shoot earlier that day in post-production. We would show the people that didn't accept the flyers rather than all those that did. We found we got some pretty funny responses that we may not have used. For the club scene, we ended up filming the band performing just for Cara. I think it gave the video a little more of a romantic vibe which I think many women might appreciate. What girl wouldn't want a personal concert just for them? Maybe not from me, haha, but perhaps from Adam Levine or whoever. Fill in the blank with your favorite artist. The idea became more about making the moment amazing. Some might say if life gives you lemons make lemonade, while others might say go find some tequila. Either way, I think we ended up with a much more unique and cool video that also embodied me as an artist. Ultimately, I am much happier too because I didn't really want a video just about partying. I like there to be substance in my music and videos and now there was a much bigger meaning which I hope is translated in the video. The experience changed the meaning of the song for me. The song is about making the most out of what you've been given. You have to embrace whatever comes your way and enjoy the moment without the expectation of what you have in your mind. When things don't go your way you have to kind of think that that maybe that's the way they were supposed to go and make the best of the situation, make it amazing! You may just find that in the end, you will be happier and better off for it. I am! Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and check out the video here and learn more about My Silent Bravery right here!
