Singled Out: Anberlin's City Electric
. City Electric was one of the three songs that we put together for Devotion, and was inspired by an adventure my friends through the streets on my town late one night. One of my friends is big into fix gear/10 speed bikes so we all met up late one spring night and headed through the nearly empty streets of Nashville. It was one of the most alive I have ever felt the city, speeding downhill in silence when its usually a buzzing metropolis. There is something invigorating about empty big cities, lit up for no one, there for the taking for anyone. As the song evolved through the demos I realized that any city a person is in, big or small, empty or alive, is there for the conquering for those willing to take it on. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the collection right here!
