Slayer have been forced to canceled their concert in Alaska, which was originally set to kick off their North American tour, after running into logistical problems preventing them from staging the show. The promoter issued this statement, "Slayer was really looking forward to playing in Alaska on this tour, especially since the last time they were there was 17 years ago, but they ran into trucking and air freighting logistical issues."
That's the bad news, but they did leave some hope for fans in the state. The promoter's announcement said that the band "hope to get up there in the new year."
The tour was originally scheduled to start October 22nd in Anchorage, Alaska at the Sullivan Sports Arena but will now kick off on October 25th at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and will conclude on November 30th at the Tsongas Arena in Boston, MA.
