The slow-burning single "Sirens" was discussed during the band's series of unorthodox interviews regarding the new album with such modern-day luminaries as Portlandia star Carrie Brownstein and film director Judd Apatow. Pearl Jam's bass player, Jeff Ament, talked about how the songs title was derived from the actual sound of police sirens in the night during a stay in Los Angeles.
