The three-disc set, scheduled for release December 3, will feature remastered versions of both the original stereo and mono mixes, plus unreleased outtakes and alternative versions of several songs. Among the bonus tracks are five previously unreleased tracks from John Cale's personal copy of the album. An unearthed live show, recorded April 30, 1967 at the Gymnasium in New York City, will comprise the Disc Three. Original Velvet Underground members Lou Reed and John Cale helped select the material.
