Phoenix Release Sophia Coppola Directed 'Chloroform' Video
. Singer Thomas Mars called upon the auteur talents of his wife, director Sophia Coppola (Lost In Translation, The Virgin Suicides) to take the helm and visualize this bucolic, dreamlike scene of the band performing on a stage in the middle distance. Watch the entire clip here, streaming on the Museum of Modern Art's website. In an interview about the video, Coppola further explained the sepia-toned ennui happening in the clip "I wanted it to be a fantasy of young girls fixated on a band they love," said Coppola, "and try to capture that feeling I remember of seeing bands when I was a kid, when you could totally lose itand to play up the band as close but out of reach. It's a fantasy audience, all young, pretty girls." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
