Vince Gill Earns Career Achievement Award
. Gill will receive the honor at the Country Radio Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Nashville on Feb. 18, one day before the CRB's annual Country Radio Seminar (Feb. 19-21). Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell will perform a tribute to Gill during the ceremony as well as present him with the award. He joins an elite group of past winners that includes such legends as George Strait, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, the Judds and Alabama. Gill's latest release is Bakersfield, a collaboration with steel guitarist Paul Franklin that features updated versions of classic Bakersfield songs by the Southern California city's most famous sons, Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Watch Gill perform his take on Owens' classic "Together Again": According to the CRB, the Career Achievement Award award is "presented to an individual artist or act that, through their creativity, vision, performance or leadership has made a significant contribution to the development and promotion of country music and country radio."
